A Mi-8 helicopter crashed not far from Kremenchuk, Poltava region, central Ukraine. Svitlana Rybalko, the press secretary of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine said this in an exclusive commentary for 112 Ukraine TV channel.
According to her, the accident occurred on Thursday evening. All those aboard – three or four people – perished. Rybalko added that the helicopter belonged to a private air company and it was performing a training flight.
The National Police spokesman Yuriy Sulayev also said that the fellow policemen saw pieces of torn electric wires on the crash site. The police shut down the place for public safety while experts check the electric networks. The media reported that local residents heard several explosions, then the blackout followed; the helicopter could have crashed into the power line.
