The difficult weather conditions are expected in Ukraine on March 3 due to the movement of the active cyclone. The press service of the Emergency Service reported this citing the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
Particularly, heavy snow and blizzards are predicted for Cherkasy, Poltava, Kharkiv, Sumy regions; heavy snow with rain in Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhya, Donetsk, Kyrovohrad and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
Wet-snow accretion and glaze are expected in Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhya, Kyrovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions.
The wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are predicted for Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhya, Kyrovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Poltava, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
It is also noted that such weather conditions can lead to the traffic breakdown at the particular parts of the roads and streets that make the second (yellow) level of danger of the vehicle traffic breakdown, complication of the work of the power grids, community facilities.
Also, it was reported that 33 towns and cities of Ukraine were cut off the electricity as at March 2.
‘In the result of the difficult weather conditions (such as heavy snow, wind gusts) 33 towns and villages were left without electricity. 16 of them are in Zaporizhya, 12 in Donetsk, three in Luhansk, one in Dnipropetrovsk and one in Chernihiv region’.
