Heating has been partially turned off in Avdiivka, Donetsk region. The reason is the 200-mm pipe break. Press office of Donetsk regional state administration reported that on December 2.
14 five-story living houses remain without heating, with the average temperature of three degrees below zero on the street. 3,654 people live in these houses.
Earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmygal claimed that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine suggested abandoning state regulation of tariffs for heating and hot water. It is proposed to transfer such powers to local authorities.
"The government is fulfilling its obligations under the program with the IMF. We have approved a draft law proposing to transfer the authority to set tariffs for heat, hot water, water supply, and sewerage from the local government," Shmygal said.
The bill has yet to be supported by the Parliament.
