Ukraine's Healthcare Minister Maksym Stepanov will be recommending that the government impose full lockdown in this country since early January. Stepanov said so during the briefing.
The Minister admitted that by doing so, the government will be able to get the population prepared for the seasonal increase of influenza incidence.
"Given the medical figures, we'll be offering a planned tough quarantine, starting in early January. It should take three weeks", Stepanov said.
Earlier, the official claimed that the Ministry would not extend the weekend quarantine; it was abandoned on November 30. At that, the government still considers options of further quarantine, and full lockdown is one of these.
Office of the President reported that head of the state himself and the Healthcare Minister both support January 2 as the lockdown's kickoff date.
