Healthcare Minister explains why number of new Covid-19 cases is decreasing in Ukraine

Healthcare Minister Maksym Stepanov explained why there is a decrease in the number of coronavirus cases in Ukraine. This was announced by the Minister during a briefing.

"As for the number of people infected with Covid-19, I must explain ...The number of people who apply for testing and have signs of coronavirus disease has significantly decreased," Stepanov said.

He added that the Ministry of Health has changed its approach to testing for coronavirus. Now all citizens who have symptoms of respiratory disease will be tested in Ukraine.

"We have added rapid tests, antigen tests. Tomorrow, my task will be to explain how people can be tested, including contact patients," he said.

Stepanov also stated that the situation with the coronavirus in Ukraine has stabilized.

As we reported earlier, over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian doctors detected 6,451 new cases of covonavirus infection.

900,666 cases have been observed in this country since the pandemic reached it. 15,247 people deceased (+93 per day), and 506,718 patients recovered (+5,154 per day).

The largest number of new cases were registered in Kyiv (605), Odesa region (584), Kyiv region (521), Dniproteptrovsk region (461) and Zaporizhya region (440).
