Public procurement on cardiovascular diseases will be implemented through an international organization instead of the Ministry of Health for the first time, reports the press service of the Health Ministry.
As it was reported, on December 12, 2016 a definitive agreement with one of the international organizations responsible for procurement in this area for the amount of 12,5 million dollars was signed. The first tender was already was announced on December 28. As of today, 5 of 6 tenders were announced (the last one will be announced on January 4, 2017).
The Health Ministry makes every effort to ensure the smooth operation of highly specialized institutions to provide cardio-surgical care, the press service noted. First of all, in order for patients to receive medical devices (in particular stents) in institutions, including Heart Institute of the Ministry, for free.
The Health Ministry reminded that cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide, and Ukraine is on the top places among European countries in terms of mortality from CVD more than a year.
Erlier it was reported that Cabinet approved concept of health care reform.
Ministry of Health noted that there will be a new model of health care financing system.
