Ukraine has decided to vaccinate citizens with the third dose of coronavirus vaccine. This was announced by the country's chief sanitary doctor Ihor Kuzin on the air of 1 + 1 channel.

"A decision has already been made and it will be made public in the near future - this is an additional dose for immunocompromised people," Kuzin said.

According to him, we are talking about people who:

  • receive hormone therapy,
  • underwent a transplant,
  • HIV-infected.

The chief medical doctor emphasized that the issue of the booster dose is still being considered.

"Most likely, the booster dose will be recommended not earlier than from the middle or the end of January next year. Now it is not recommended," he summed up.

Meanwhile, three Ukrainian regions have beaten the threshold of 50 percent of the population vaccinated with at least one dose of vaccine against coronavirus. 

"As of today, already three regions of Ukraine crossed the threshold of 50 percent of vaccinated adult Ukrainians who received at least one dose," Lyashko said.
