Healthcare Minister Maksym Stepanov summed up the results of the strict lockdown that was in effect in Ukraine from January 8 to 24. He noted that the number of people hospitalized with coronavirus has decreased. Stepanov wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"I want to thank everyone who adhered to the restrictions. Together we managed to stabilize the situation and relieve our medical system and health workers," the minister said.
According to him, at the beginning of December, there were 29,000 people in hospitals in Ukraine who had contracted coronavirus or were suspected of being infected. At the same time, after a strict lockdown, this number dropped to 18,600.
Stepanov also noted that from January 25, Ukraine is switching to new quarantine rules. They will be the ones that existed before the strict lockdown.
Over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian doctors confirmed 2,516 new cases of Covid-19, including 95 children and 87 healthcare workers.
1,166 people have been taken to hospitals during this period; 63 patients deceased, and 5,783 recovered. 13,962 tests have been taken.
Most of the confirmed cases have been observed in Zaporizhzhia (241), Ivano-Frankivsk (238), Odesa (166), Chernivtsi (160) regions and Kyiv city(146).
