Head doctor of ambulance station in Ivano-Frankivsk dies after being diagnosed with Covid-19

Ihor Kovalyuk, the head physician of the local ambulance station in Ivano-Frankivsk deceased due to coronavirus. The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martsynkiv wrote about this on his Facebook page.

"It’s impossible to prepare for death. Everyone faces the loss of loved ones, relatives, so many are familiar with the pain of loss. Today the head physician of the Ivano-Frankivsk ambulance station Igor Kovalyuk passed away," Martsynkiv wrote.

The new head of the ambulance station union Bohdan Vinnyk said that Kovalyuk was 57 years old. He added that the doctor died after a serious illness.

On May 4, Martsynkiv announced six hospitalized per day in Ivano-Frankivsk, including the head of the city ambulance station. His condition was assessed as serious.

As of the morning of May 10, 15,232 cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Ukraine. 522 cases of the disease were recorded per day. Since the beginning of the epidemic in Ukraine, 3060 patients have already recovered (+151 per day), and 391 people have died (+15 per day).
