The American TV Company announced the preparation of the shooting of the miniseries about Chernobyl disaster that took place in 1986 as Associated Press and Variety reported.

The series will consist of five episodes and the star of the Mad Men Jared Harris will play the leading role. His hero is the scientist who was sent to the place of the disaster by Kremlin to investigate what happened. The events in the film take place in 1986 right after the explosion of the reactor.

‘We all were assured that t a is is too honest story about the horror and the atonement that should be shown to the world when Craig Mazin (the script writer of the series) shown us the story. It will involve and enrage our audience all over the world’, the Head of HBO Miniseries Kary Antholis reported.

The shooting will begin in spring 2018, in Lithuania.

HBO is the American television network that shot such significant series as Game of Thrones, Big Little Lies, The Sopranos and other.
