This year crop on the fields of Poland may be lost without seasonal workers from Ukraine. It will be extremely difficult for local farmers to collect the crop personally. Such a pessimistic forecast in an interview with Ukrinform was voiced by the head of the Polish Association of Fruit and Vegetable Processors, Andrzej Gajovnichek, who also owns one of the largest agricultural companies in Poland, Real SA.

"Poland is a huge food producer, one of the largest in Europe. Let's just say that we grow champignons and other agricultural products the most in the EU. Therefore, if workers from Ukraine do not come, it will be a disaster. What is growing in the fields will be lost, because there will be no one to collect it," said Gajovnichek.

The head of the Association noted that within three weeks there will be significant losses, as well as protests of Polish farmers. He also said that Polish farmers are accustomed to Ukrainian workers and are happy to share experience with them.

"Some of them settled in Poland, some live in two countries, and some have taken Polish experience and are already building their own business in Ukraine. The manufacturing industry in Ukraine is also developing very well," said Andrzej Gajovnichek.
