Harsh winter in Ukraine: Over 60 settlements remain cut off grid

62 settlements in Ukraine are experiencing trouble with electricity supplies because of harsh weather conditions, reports State Service for Emergencies. Most of these settlements are in Chernivtsi and Kherson regions.

Winds gusts and snow build-up were observedin many regions on the night from February 8 to February 9. 

Besides Chernivtsi and Kherson regions, citizens faced issues with electricity in Zakarpattya, Kyiv and Odesa regions.

Maintenance works are underway.

On February 9, the number of settlements that were cut off the grid was 273.

Strong snowfalls and wind gusts, along with black ice are observed in Ukraine. Snowfalls caused trouble with roadway and air traffic. Flights are being delayed in Ukrainian airports.
