Group of armed men attacked the building of National Assembly in Venezuela, according to the message published on the department’s website.

The message says that the employees of National Assembly were peacefully protesting against the constitutional assembly when they were attacked.

Four people were injured as a result of the incident. The building was also damaged. The attackers wrote "Chavez is alive" and "You have 37 days" on the walls.

"The military officers of the National Guard did not take any measures to protect the workers and the parliament building," the message reads.

It is noteworthy that clashes between supporters of President Nicolás Maduro and his opponents, who are demanding government’s resignation, continue since beginning of April. Authorities of Venezuela have currently detained 2.97 thousand people.
