August 6, Ukrainian border guards detained seven illegal migrants in the Chernihiv region, at the junction of the borders with the Russian Federation and Belarus. This was reported by the press service of the State Border Service.
Illegals who made their way outside the checkpoints were stopped near the village of Hirsk, at the junction of three countries – Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus. They were heading outside Ukraine.
Six citizens of Azerbaijan and one citizen of Georgia were among the detainees. It also turned out that one of them had no documents, previously a native of Azerbaijan, who was wanted by law enforcement officers for theft in the Odesa region.
"Foreign citizens are detained in order to establish the persons and circumstances of the offense. After it they will be held accountable for an attempt to violate the state border and violation of the border regime," the State Border Guard Service said.
As reported before, Poland and Lithuania have urged the EU countries to increase the support of Lithuania amid the crisis with migrants and extend sanctions against Belarus as the Polish government reported.
