Governor of Zakarpattia expects provocations on parliamentary election day in Hungary

The same security measures will be implemented in Zakarpattia on parliamentary election day in Hungary as during the celebration of Carpatho-Ukraine Day. Hennady Moskal, the Governor of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration claimed this to Ukrayinska Pravda.

'We will do this in the same way as during the celebration of Carpatho-Ukraine Day. The large-scale provocations were expected but we blocked all four mountain passes. Firstly, there was information that it can be the 'right powers' but they understood that the locals did not perceive the radical tendencies', Moskal noted.

He also claimed that police detained 32 people with balaclavas, cold arms, bats, gas and nonlethal arms on Carpatho-Ukraine Day.

'Each of them had $57. There we people from Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa regions, Kyiv hired by the special services of Russia', Moskal added.

The voting at the parliamentary election in Hungary will take place on April 8.

As we reported in Uzhgorod, a bottle with an incendiary mixture was thrown into the building of the Transcarpathian Union of Hungarians.

The arson at the office happened in small hours of February 26. Units of the State Emergency Service put out the fire after it destroyed furniture and part of the property on an area of 25 square meters.

Later, the Ukrainian ambassador in Budapest was summoned to the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs because of an attack on the office of Hungarian Culture Association.
