The Cabinet of Ministers plans to tighten quarantine measures due to the spread of coronavirus infection. Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov stated this during a government meeting, which was broadcast on 112 Ukraine TV channel.
He proposed to ban pensioners over 60 years of age from going outside.
"In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease, it is planned to introduce the most effective combination of preventive non-drug interventions, home isolation, home quarantine and social distance of people over the age of 60," Maksym Stepanov said.
He also suggested restricting visits to parks and recreation areas, as well as stopping public transport.
In turn, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleh Nemchinov added that it is necessary to deprive the benefits of all people who violate the regime of self-isolation.
“We now go as far as possible towards people who voluntarily choose self-isolation, give them the opportunity to avoid various penalties, give additional payments. I would ask you to consider the possibility that if people violate the self-isolation regime, so that we can cancel these benefits, bonuses, which are given by the government. And in the case of the conclusion of the relevant administrative protocols, so that we can take these things into account," Nemchinov stated.
As we reported, yesterday, on March 31, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held an online meeting with heads of regional state administrations, regional councils and mayors of cities to discuss the issue of training local self-government bodies and executive authorities to counter the spread of the coronavirus.
