Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers expanded the list of equipment allowed to be used for the record of violation of traffic regulations and as an evidence for bringing offenders to justice. The Cabinet of Ministers adopted the relevant decree on October 3, and commissioned the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to finalize it within three days, the press office of the Government reported.
‘On October 3, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision on the introduction of more sophisticated equipment of measuring technology for road traffic safety control. In particular, the equipment for the determination of the space-time coordinates of vehicles, photo and video devices for the record of the violation of traffic regulations automatically,’ reads the message.
It is expected that the use of the equipment will provide a better control of traffic regulations.
Earlier, Head of Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov claimed that they can install about four thousand video surveillance cameras over six months. He believes that such measures will bring to the reduction of accidents and death rates on roads.
