The online giant unveiled two new devices at an event in San Francisco - Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, metro.co.uk reported.

Its biggest innovation for its second generation phones is the ability to take ‘portrait mode’ photos using cameras on the front and back. This means the device will not need a second lens to blur backgrounds when taking close-up photos like rival phones, which could free up space for a larger battery. The smartphones will have impressive 12-megapixel single lens rear cameras.

But just like the new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus the devices will have no headphone jacks. But the waterproof smartphones will come with a curved screen and narrower bezels.

Google has spoiled its own Pixel 2 announcement just minutes ahead of its official unveiling. According to the Verge, in a move similar to Apple’s iPhone 7 mistake last year, Google has updated its official Google Home app with images of the Pixel 2 XL. Google’s new Pixel 2 XL smartphone has been heavily leaked multiple times ahead of its expected unveiling today, and this appears to be official confirmation of the reduced bezels reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy S8.

As we reported earlier, Apple released a new iPhone on September 12. Traditionally a lot of rumors and expectations fed the tension. Ukrainian viewers of the presentation of Apple products were pleasantly surprised: during the presentation, the building of Kyiv railway station was shown. When watching video Apple Watch presentation, you will recognize the lobby of the Kyiv station with two escalators, and you can even hear the announcement in Ukrainian. Next, the action takes place on a subway platform, similar to "Zoloti Vorota" station.
