Google has presented a new doodle dedicated to anniversary of foundation of the only Ukrainian Antarctic station Vernadsky Research Base.
So, on the start page of the Google search there is a Ukrainian Antarctic Station with penguins playing. By clicking on the doodle, the user can see a number of informational links that tell about the role of Ukraine in the study of Antarctica.
The Academician Vernadsky team thanked Google for the congratulations.
Today the only Ukrainian Antarctic station Vernadsky Research Base celebrates the 25th anniversary of its foundation.
In 1996, Ukrainian polar explorers raised the flag over the earlier British Faraday station, symbolically buying it for one pound sterling.
The holiday is celebrated even at the "state level" - President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree to celebrate the anniversary of its foundation.
As we reported earlier, 38 of the United States filed a collective lawsuit against Google, blaming the Internet giant for illegal monopoly on the online search market, which it claimed to be harmful for users and advertisers. The lawsuit was submitted for the consideration of federal court in Washington.
