Just days before the scheduled Golden Globe Awards ceremony slated for January 9, organizers claimed that serious restrictions were introduced.
According to Billboard, Tthere will be no red carpet, celebrities, press or non-Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) members in attendance this year.
This is a reflection of both the serious situation with COVID and the fact that the HFPA is now persona non grata for many in Hollywood.
It remains unclear whether people will somehow be able to watch the winners announcement ceremony. NBC, which owns the rights to broadcast the Golden Globe Awards, has refused to cooperate because the jury does not sufficiently reflect the diversity of American society.
