Around 1/3 of corals near the coast of Australia have been destroyed due to ‘decoloration’

Experts studied the corals in water and from air over the scope of several months and concluded that their current state is the worst they’ve ever observed. Around 25% to 35% of coral reeves have died over the past 30 years. The Great Barrier Reef serves a protection against hurricanes, which constantly threaten the Australian coast.
