The administration of German Chancellor Angela Merkel expects that the vaccination from the Covid-19 will start in the country in the early days of the new year as Radio Liberty reported.
It is expected that the EU will make a decision on the approval of the vaccine against Covid-19 until December 29.
The incidence rates in Germany have stabilized after the partial lockdown started on November 2 but they did not decrease. On Monday, Germany reported 12,332 new cases of coronavirus infection in 24 hours in comparison with 11,168 cases last week.
Such restrictions as the closure of restaurants, bars, sports and entertainment facilities should be extended at least until January 10 and some regions adopt or consider more strict measures.
Earlier, the UK approved the use of the Pfizer vaccine against coronavirus in the country.
As we reported, American biotech company Pfizer and German Biontech have applied for registration of their coronavirus vaccine in the United States.
The documents are submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The concern has also sent applications for registration of the vaccine to other countries, including Australia, Great Britain, Europe, Canada, and Japan.
Besides, during the final stage of the trial of the vaccine against coronavirus infection developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, its efficacy was increased up to 94%.
