German government has imposed the mode of military disaster due to the extreme floods.
According to Spiegel, the teams will be authorized to send in the vehicles to assist the local authorities.
The country suffers the aftermaths of heavy reains, which led to major floods. 850 military people have been involved in the works to cope with consequences of the disaster; the nubmer will keep growing.
More than 1,300 people went missing across the country; at least 81 died in Rheinland-Pfalz and Nordrhein-Westfallen lands.
Ahrweiler resort area took especially huge damage; a state of emergency was announced there due to the rains and subsequent floods.
Earlier, the UN claimed that the drought may become the next pandemic on Earth. By now, the disaster already dealt more than 100 million dollars of economic damage. Mami Mizutori, the UN representative for reducing the disaster risks said so as cited by Reuters.
"Drought is on the verge of becoming the next pandemic and there is no vaccine to cure it", Mizutori said.
The UN says that in 1998-2017, the disaster caused economic damage in the amount of 124 billion dollars, affecting more than 1.5 billion people worldwide.
Currently, the global warming made the droughts in Southern Europe and Western Africa even worse, and the number of casualties can "grow drastically". Thus, according to organization, approximately 130 countries can face greater risks of drought already in this century.
