German law enforcers confirmed that Ukraine’s citizen deceased during the recent terrorist attack in Berlin. Andriy Melnyk, Ukraine’s ambassador in Germany tweeted this on Friday, December 23.  

Melnyk said he personally expressed his deepest condolences to the daughter of the deceased citizen.

In evening of December 19, the truck drove into a crowd at a Christmas market in the downtown Berlin. 12 people were killed, 48 were injured. The truck drove through the territory of the market about 80 m. Police later reported that the truck had Polish numbers; the driver tried to escape from the scene and was arrested some time later, and the passenger died on the spot. Berlin police later reported that law enforcement officers arrested the wrong man, and perpetrator of terrorist act is on the loose and may be armed. 

Earlier today, the police of Milan shot dead the main suspect in the crime.
