General producer of NewsOne TV Channel, Vasyl Golovanov, spoke to members of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech, NewsOne TV Channel reports.
"We have repeatedly discussed the issue of freedom of speech and invited representatives of all political forces, including the Servant of the People party, which now dominates the parliament," he said.
According to him, the satellite license, which they want to deny NewsOne TV Channel, jeopardizes the existence of the channel and its operation.
"And these are 419 members of the NewsOne staff: journalists, editors, designers and other workers who may remain unemployed. These are 419 people who are patriots of their country, who do their jobs and never violate laws of Ukraine," Golovanov explained.
He recalled that on October 16, Zelensky signed amendments to the law on the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine, which extended the right of the current Council's composition to work.
"I have doubts about the legitimacy of the decisions made so far since the law does not have retroactive force," Golovanov said.
The general producer also addressed MPs and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
"From now on it is your National Council, today you have signed this law, and therefore you are responsible for the actions of the members of the council," he emphasized.
