A powerful explosion was observed in the village of Chabany, not far from Kyiv, - as it turned out, a pipe burst occurred at a gas pipeline pumping gas to Europe. Initially, the incident was reported by Kyiv Operative on Facebook with reference to local residents, and later the information was confirmed by the Kyiv Region Police in a comment to Interfax.
"In the area of the village of Chabany, a gas pipe, which pumps gas to Europe, burst in a field with a diameter of 1.5 m.," the police said.
The high-pressure gas pipeline (Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhhorod) was compromised, which caused the leak of the gas into the environment.
There is no information about any victims.
