Ukraine and Russia continue negotiations in Vienna on the transit of natural gas after January 1, 2020. The head of LLC “Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine” Serhiy Makohon on his Facebook page announced this.
“We begin the next day of negotiations. The goal is to finalize all the agreements,” he wrote.
As we reported earlier, Kyiv and Moscow refused from mutual claims in terms of gas negotiations. The sides agreed to zero these claims on January 1. Aleksandr Novak, the Russian Energy Minister said so as quoted by RIA Novosti news agency.
The parties will refuse from the lawsuits, where there are no decisions yet. It became a part of the protocol on the gas cooperation, which was signed on December 20.
Gazprom also agreed to pay Naftogaz 2.9 billion dollars under the decision of Stockholm arbitrary court. The sides will sign a peace agreement, which foresees that the anti-monopoly claims worth 7.4 billion dollars will be lifted.
