The future pandemics could prove deadlier for humankind than the ongoing one. Sarah Gilbert, one of the AstraZeneca vaccine developers said so as quoted by BBC.

"Truth be told, the next virus could appear even worse. It could be more contagious, deadlier or both", the scientist said.

Gilbert added that the current vaccines could appear less effective against new strains, specifically the Omicron. So people should be careful because scientists don't know much about it. According to her, the new strain has changes, which mean that the antibodies developed by the vaccines and produced due to infection with other strains are less effective. There's a chance that a universal vaccine will be developed in the future against this disease.

The governments are supposed to assign funds for preparations to future pandemics, and the scientists should keep the experience and knowledge that they received while fighting Covid-19.
