FSB completes investigation against Mejlis Deputy Chairman Ilmi Umerov

The Russian FSB has completed the investigation against the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov. Umerov wrote about this on Facebook.

"The investigator told my lawyers and me on completion of the investigation and the beginning of the familiarization with the criminal case materials. Then the materials will be transferred to the prosecutor's office and then to the court", Ilmi Umerov wrote.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis Ilmi Umerov was summoned for questioning by the investigator of the FSB on February 28, 16:00.

Recall that in May 2016 the FSB brought charges against Umerov under Art. 280.1 of the Criminal Code on public calls for action to "violation of the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation”. In December Russia included Umerov in the list of terrorists. He intends to challenge the decision.
