Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada introduced criminal liability for exporting (shipment) anti-epidemic goods across the customs border of Ukraine. The corresponding bill No. 3271 was supported by 274 MPs.
"The draft law stipulates for amending and adding the Criminal Code of Ukraine and provides criminal responsibility for exporting significant volumes of anti-epidemic products across the customs border of Ukraine beyond customs control or hiding from customs control of these products, which are subject to licensing or which are banned for export," the explanatory note says.
According to the law, exporting medical masks, gowns, and gloves from Ukraine is punishable by a fine in the amount of $4,800 - $7,200
a fine of 136 to 204 thousand hryvnias with confiscation of these goods.
The same actions committed repeatedly, or by a prior conspiracy of a group of persons, by a person previously convicted of a crime stipulated by this article, by a public officer using his official position or in a large amount - shall be punishable by a fine in the amount of $7,200 to $15,000 with confiscation of these goods.
This law shall enter into force on the day following the day of its publication.
