Ukraine is a 'nation in transit' – at least that’s where Freedom House puts it in a report published at their official web page.

According to the document, there is certain progress in developing democracy in Ukraine; in 2016, the level of democracy in this country was assessed at 4.61 points out of 7, with 7 meaning the worst progress in this area. In 2015, this level equaled 4.68.

Authors of the report say that the narrow parliamentary coalition could actually survive all sorts of political crisis, but the overall pessimism and lack of public trust, the growing tariffs for gas and electricity supplies, as well as external efforts to destabilize political situation in Ukraine could really provoke certain ‘turbulence’.
