French Valentina Tronnel triumphed at Junior Eurovision song contest 2020. Children from 12 countries participated in the competition, which ran online because of the Covid-19 restrictions. Three hosts led the action during the final show but all performances were broadcasted, not going live.
According to the official website of the song contest, Tronnel's song J'imagine gathered 200 points, 112 from viewers and 88 from the judges.
Karakat Bashanova from Kazakhstan came second, with 152 points. Third place went to Solea, the competitor from Spain (133)
Ukraine's Oleksandr Balabanov with his song Vidkryvai (Open) came seventh (106 points).
Junior Eurovision 2021 is to take place in the Netherlands, at the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam. The semifinals are slated for May 18 and 20; the final show is to take place May 22. The logo, the stage, the slogan and the hosts will remain the same. It also concerns the results of the draw ceremony in the semifinals of the canceled contest.
