Four people injured due to explosions near Balakliya

Four people were injured as the result of the explosions near Balakliya, which occurred during the demining process. The Head of Public Relations Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Bohdan Senyk, reported on the air of 112 Ukraine TV Channel.

As of 15:20, four people have been injured in the blasts: two servicemen and two armed forces employees. The victims received burns of the soft tissues, one of the servicemen sustained a fracture.

"It is impossible to speak of evacuation because planned measures were prepared by personnel. They were carried out in the technical territory, which was set for the disposal of residues (ammunition - ed.) And their elements that cannot be transported. Destruction was carried out in a special pit," Senyk said.

As we reported earlier, the explosions took place near the Balakliya ammunition depot, Kharkiv region as Depo.Kharkov reported citing Balakliya Mayor Ivan Stolbovy.

“The single explosions occurred at Balakliya ammunition depot. The commander of the military unit, fire department, and Emergency Service stay at the site. They will estimate the situation and then more detailed information will be provided. The situation is incomprehensible. It took place a half of an hour ago,” Stolbovy said.
