Ex-lawmaker and former head of Ukrbud construction corporation Maksym Mykytas ordered a kidnapping act soon after leaving the remand centre; he was bailed out on December 3, and the kidnapping took place on December 8. Mignews reported that on December 29.
"Mykytas returned 1.78 million U.S. dollars of financial damage to the state treasury, and on December 3, he left the remand centre to be put under round-the-clock house arrest. Not even a month has passed since then, he is also charged with the kidnapping act; actually, he is so far just a suspect, formally, but all facts stand against Mykytas", reads the message.
The National Police conducted searches within the kidnapping case and published the video of Mykytas receiving the notification paper, and telephone conversations that pointed at preparations for the crime.
The kidnapped person is a lawyer who assisted Mykytas; the act was organized by a criminal gang leader who is now in custody, charged with murder. The investigation team found out that the kidnapping was ordered by Mykytas himself.
The kidnapped lawyer had his car taken from him by force; the contractor ordered that the lawyer sign the 800,000-dollar bill of debt.
