The forest caught fire in Luhansk region due to the attack of the militants. This was reported by the press center of the State Emergency Service (SES).

"On July 22, the State Emergency Service received information that fire of dry grass and young forest broke out in the territory of the Trokhizbenske forestry due to the shelling that was carried out near the village of Lopaskine in the Novoaidar district," the press center said.

71 rescuers from the State Emergency Service are involved in the firefighting (16 tank trucks and pyrotechnic calculations of the State Emergency Service).

As we reported earlier, the last large-scale forest fire occurred in Luhansk region on July 7.

The death of five people was confirmed and 34 people, including 15 children were hospitalized. 71 people appealed for medical aid to the hospital.

As a result, 10% of the total area of the forestland (5,000 hectares) destroyed, the approximate amount of losses made over 450 million hryvnias (16.6 million dollars).
