Ukrainian and Dutch football supporters picked a fight at ‘The Wall’ bar in Kharkiv, northeastern Ukraine; it happened on late October 31, before the match of UEFA Champions League, which the city hosts tonight.
According to the witnesses, the incident broke out as a group of Ukrainian fans entered the pub and used offensive language. ‘They broke into the pub and started shouting something like ‘Go back to your Netherlands!’. The guys sitting there armed themselves with bar chairs and a billboard to keep the attackers away,’ one of the pub’s visitors said.
The police detained 52 men and took them to a local police precinct for an interview. The law enforcers reported that the pub’s four windows were smashed during the fight.
As 112 International reported, Shakhtar Donetsk hosts Feyenoord on November 1. The game is supposed to take place at Metallist stadium at 9.45 p.m. Kyiv time.
