Food markets in Odesa and Kharkiv are still working even though the Healthcare Ministry imposed the ban on this kind of activity. This is reported in the message posted on the website of the President's Office

The conference between Head of Office Andriy Yermak and heads of Odesa and Kharkiv regional state administrations took place in Kyiv; the latter informed Yermak that food markets in their respective regions stopped working, according to the Healthcare Ministry decree. However, the markets in regional capital cities still work because city mayors did not order to close them for the quarantine period.

Kyiv city mayor Vitaliy Klitschko commented on the issue, saying that governors should be cooperating with mayors as they are the leaders of the local communities.

"Some mayors have their own point of view on certain matters, but there's an issue of state level. The mayors should be held accountable for their decisions", Klitschko said.

The nationwide restriction of the work of food markets was introduced on April 14.
