In spite of the thick fog covering Ukraine, there is no considerable growth in the rate of air contamination in Ukraine. The insignificant excess of the allowed harmful concentrations is reported in several cities, including Dnipro, Odesa, Kryvyi Rih, Lviv and Kamyanske. Mykola Chechotkin, the Head of the State Emergency Service reported this on Facebook.
"The anti-cyclonic nature of weather is holding in Ukraine; it leads to the absence of precipitation, weak winds, the increase of air temperature at the altitude of 700-800 meters from the ground level, absence of vertical mixture of air and thick clouds. These factors facilitate the amassment of the toxic substances in the lower layers of the atmosphere", he wrote.
The fog has been observed in Ukraine for several days now; local authorities say it is casual kind of weather due to extreme humidity rate, but some citizens assume it is due to the high atmospheric pollution.
