Medics observe a certain decrease in flu disease incidence among children in Kyiv. The rate makes -15 percent, said Mykola Povoroznyk, the first deputy head of Kyiv City State Administration.

According to him, the decrease is due to the fact that the number of sick children dropped (6,405 cases this week), and that of the adults grew up by 4.8 percent (5,502 cases).

Povoroznyk added that some 12,000 cases were observed over the week in general. On the whole, such rate is quite typical for this particular season. 'Currently, the disease incidence makes 401.8 cases, which is 53.1 percent lower than the epidemiological threshold', reads the message of the Kyiv city state administration's website.

The official also said that over the past week, 228 people were taken to hospitals with flu symptoms (160 of those are children).

The education process at one school in Kyiv is suspended until the peak of the epidemiological season is over.
