As of the morning of July 6, five settlements remain flooded in Chernivtsi region due to bad weather conditions. This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
"On the territory of the western regions five (349 were inundated initially) settlements remain flooded in Chernivtsi region; as well as 14 (7,225 were inundated initially) basements (Ivano-Frankivsk region (11), Ternopil region (three)); 47 (22,182 were inundated initially) homesteads (Chernivtsi region (38), Ternopil region (seven), Ivano-Frankivsk region (two),” the message reads.
The agency also noted that 478 people had been rescued, 721 people had been evacuated, and 1,324 had been relocated since the beginning of rescue operations in the region.
As we reported earlier, Ivano-Frankivsk region received humanitarian assistance from the government of Sweden: it will be used to eliminate the consequences of floods.
"To liquidate the consequences of the emergency that occurred in the Ivano-Frankivsk region after the rains and flood, the Carpathian rescuers received humanitarian assistance from the Swedish government," the statement said.
