The town of Reni (Odesa region) and the surrounding villages took considerable damage due to heavy rains.

The video below shows footage of strong mudflows that destroyed the roadways, Dumska outlet reports.

According to Yuriy Dimchoglo, the deputy chairman of the Odesa regional council, the villages of Dolynske, Lymanske, Kotlovyna, and Nahorne.

The water wrecked the roadways and flooded houses. The experts will be evaluating the dealt damage in the coming days.

Dimchoglo claimed that it's a disaster for local budgets, which already suffer the impact of economic crisis, the draught, and combat against the Covid-19 epidemic.

Earlier, we reported that the late meteorological summer in Kyiv has already brought two temperature records; actually, they were observed on the same day. The Central Geophysical Observatory named after Borys Sreznevsky reported that on June 11.

On June 10, the daily average air temperature made 26.3 degrees above zero by Celsius. That's 0.3 degrees higher than the previous temperature record for this day, which was observed in 1885.

May 2020 appeared to be the coldest May month in the 21st century so far. At that, the rains in the Ukrainian capital beat the record that held for almost 130 years.
