Floods in Germany: Government to allocate Є300 million of urgent aid

The government of Germany plans to allocate over Є300 million as urgent aid to suffered from floods and billion of euros for the repair of destroyed buildings, streets, and bridges as Reuters reported citing Minister of Finance Olaf Scholz.

Economy Minister Peter Altmaier reported that companies that suffered from the floods and Covid-19 pandemic can be provided with short-term payment in the sum of 10,000 euro.

Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel has visited Rhineland-Palatinate state – one of the most suffered from the natural disaster. She confirmed the readiness to provide urgent financial aid to people who suffer from a natural catastrophe.

As of now, the flood claimed the lives of 157 people in Germany and 31 people in Belgium; hundreds of people are considered to be missing; there is no connection with many people.

Belgium announced Tuesday to be the national day of mourning.

As we reported, the German government imposed the mode of military disaster due to the extreme floods

Over 1,300 people went missing in Germany as a result of floods. Mostly, Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia suffered from the natural disaster.
