Five citizens of Ukraine were arrested in Alliance Hotel in Tbilisi, Rustavi 2 reports.
It is stated that former Georgian serviceman who fought in Ukrainian battalion ‘Donbas’ Luka Chkhetia is among the detainees. His father Sergo Chkhetia told reporters that his son was going to take part in protest action scheduled for December 2 in Tbilisi.
The arrested arrived in Tbilisi and checked in Alliance Hotel on November 27. Hotel representatives recounted that all the detainees have Ukrainian passports.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia hasn’t commented on the situation yet.
As reported before, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the draft agreement on the trips on Ukrainian passports in the form of ID-cards with Georgia for the citizens of both countries. The agreement provides that the citizens of Ukraine will be able to visit Georgia on the basis of the inner passports in the form of ID-cards which contain the contactless electronic medium.
