Five cases of coronavirus infection officially confirmed in Ukraine

Two new cases were recorded in the Chernivtsi region

Since the beginning of the year, five cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Ukraine. Two new cases were found in the Chernivtsi region. This was reported by the Public Health Center on its Facebook page.

"As of March 16, five cases of Covid-19 were confirmed by laboratory. Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine’s Public Health Center has received 94 suspicions of the new coronavirus infection. According to the results of the Center's virological reference laboratory, five positive results were obtained for Covid-19: Chernivtsi (four) and Zhytomyr (one) regions," the message reads.

In total, the Virological Reference Laboratory of the Center for Public Health of Ukraine examined more than 500 samples.

The Ministry of Health specified that two women were infected. Patients are isolated, their condition is stable.

As we reported earlier, the quarantine was introduced in another Ukrainian city: Odesa mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov ordered to suspend the work of all public places, except for groceries and pharmacy shops.

"In order to stop the spread of the morbidity of the ARVI, caused by Covid-19 coronavirus, Odesa city mayor signed the decree (...)", the message reads.
