The first trailer of the film 'Donbas' by Serhiy Loznitsa was introduced. It tells a story about people living in the zone of armed conflict in the east of Ukraine. The video appeared on the Facebook page of ATOMS & VOID, who were involved in creating it.

The film consists of 13 intertwining plots, which demonstrate different spheres of life in the occupied territories. The tape shows how militants take away a car from a local businessman, immigrants huddle in the basement, an official steals property in a hospital and journalist shoot fake news for television. Loznitsa wrote a screenplay of the film based on the documentary clips laid out by eyewitnesses on the Internet.

Explaining the idea of his tape, the director emphasized: "Donbas is not a region, but a concept, and this became possible because criminal relations there are the basis of life, and many people living there have no ground under their feet."

The tape was awarded the director's prize of the "Special View" program of the Cannes Film Festival. Also, the film was shown in the framework of the Munich and Odesa film forums. The Ukrainian film will be released on October 18.

As previously reported, the new documentary of Loznica "The Process" will be shown at the Venice Film Festival, which starts on August 29.
