"Yesterday, on September 14, 2020, the team of 25th Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition reported that the first Weddell seal was born on Galindez island, where our station is located. The girl is so far a bit frightened, and she's holding on to her mother," reads the message.
Ukrainian researcher Oksana Savenko told about this event on her Facebook page.
"And you come out of the station for biological observations with a motivation level which you are ashamed of even for yourself. And here it is (the penguin - ed.)! A lonely one," she wrote.
