A 36-year-old churchman from the Thessaloniki suburb was diagnosed with the new strain of Covid-19.
It is considered that the South African variant of the coronavirus is more contagious than the usual SARS-CoV-2 variant.

France banned travel to and from non-EU countries as part of new measures to avoid a third lockdown. Since Sunday all but essential travel from outside of the EU will be banned. Testing requirements from inside the EU will also be tightened.
