The first death from coronavirus was recorded in Ukraine's Lviv region. The press service of the Lviv Regional Administration reports.

"Yesterday, the first patient, who had a coronavirus infection, died in the Lviv region. This is a 69-year-old man. A positive test, which confirmed the patient’s coronavirus, was received this morning," the report reads.

It is noted that the man had severe pneumonia, he was attached to a ventilator. In addition, the patient had concomitant diseases, in particular diabetes mellitus, a history of cardiovascular disease.

As we reported before, in Ukraine, women, as well as persons aged 50 years and over, predominate among coronavirus victims.

“If you look at the statistics, the age structure of the deceased is dominated by women 65.6%, as well as persons aged 50 years and over - 84.4%. We have five deaths among those up tp 50 years, but if we look at the statistics 60+, it is almost 50% of the dead," Lyashko said.

Also, Mykolaiv region remains the only Ukrainian area, where not a single case of coronavirus infection Covid-19 is registered.
