The first case of an Indian coronavirus strain was recorded in Poland. This was reported by Polish Radio.

The Indian mutation of coronavirus was found in a Polish diplomat evacuated from India. He has been undergoing treatment in one of the infectious diseases hospitals in Warsaw for a week now. This information was confirmed by a virologist from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Professor Krzysztof Pyrc.

The diplomat, infected with a dangerous type of coronavirus, was transported to Poland by a special plane. He was evacuated from India with his wife and four children.

As we reported earlier, the government of Ukraine made a decision to close the state border for foreigners from India, where the catastrophic situation with coronavirus spread is observed as Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko reported.

“The government of Ukraine made a decision on the ban of the crossing of the state border from 00:00, May 2, for foreigners and stateless persons coming from India and people who stay in the territory of India at least seven days during the past 14 days,” Lyashko said.
