German medics confirmed the first case of COVID-19, the Chinese coronavirus in Berlin. The doctors began to check the people who contacted the infected person, DW reports.

The infected man had rest in the largest aquapark in Germany, which is why the local staff is tested for possible signs of coronavirus.

This is not the first case in Germany; Berlin is the tenth of sixteen German federal lands where the disease was observed.

14 cases were observed in Austria, eight of them in Vienna.

As of March 2, the current number of cases worldwide has exceeded 89,000. 3,048 patients deceased. Another 45,095 people recovered successfully.
